3 Small Words

As I write this last blog, I can't seem to find the right words to express my gratitude and appreciation. From phone calls, emails, hugs, food, flowers, words of encouragement and unending generosity; I am now simply at a loss for words. If I could I would reach out and give each and everyone of you a hug. I just don't know what to say at this point.

From the friends who sat with me hour after hour, cried with me and laughed with me, to my family that spent many a night on the floor of the ICU waiting room and at Donny's bedside, it brings me to tears how lucky and blessed we truly are. Obviously tears of joy because I know it is your prayers, love and support, Donny's will to fight and the grace of God that we have him home.

Donny is doing well, very weak and tires easily, but making every effort to "follow doctors orders" and is being a "good boy". He starts Cardiac Rehabilatation on Tuesday for 12 weeks and returns to the doctor in 2 weeks. He currently has 4 stints but we do not expect any future surgeries at this point. We are already enjoying our new diet and he has a route from the living to the kitchen! He is only allowed to walk right now. So on his behalf and mine, "thank you". These two small words seem so inadequate, but know they're from the bottom of our hearts. I must say, the 3 best words I've ever heard, were "I Love You" from my husband.

I'll never in this life time take even one small second for granted, life is very, very short. Take the time to say "I Love You" and cherish every moment you have to live with the one you love. I certainly will.

Love to all, Donny, Darla, Jason and Jennifer Farmer

Darla,

Good morning and God Bless +

Goodness, I believe I understand just where you're coming from. While my circumstances seem far from what you've experienced, I must say, I some how can relate to your words in the fact that life is just too short to take for granted hence love the one you're with moreover, let them know each and every day just how much.

The power of love is truly what brings family, friends, and loved ones together for with love there is unity; I whole-heartedly believe this.

AND to be honest, I'm grateful that we as a whole were able to provide you guys with enough love, support, and prayer to hold you guys strong during your time of need.

SO while, "you're welcome" seems to be the proper thing to say, let me just simply put it this way, it was our pleasure having, for a lack of better words, stood by your side; after all … that's what family and friends are for.

With that said I am ecstatic that Donny is home and doing well; praise God. Please extend a warm hello on behalf of me, Cat, and the kids.

We pray for Donny’s speedy recovery. Hopefully it will be soon!

With continued love and support,

Cat, Susie & Kids

Father, I pray to you this morning and I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those that I care deeply for, who are reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister their spirit at this very moment. Where this is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your grace. Where there is need, I ask you to fulfill their needs. Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

P.S. Cat’s season begins this Fall as a matter of fact his opening game with the Grand View Vikings is August 30th … we welcome you guys to attend. God willing, we will be in attendance of all his home (Des Moines, IA) games.

If you want proof that God answers prayers you have to look no farther than the ordeal our friend Donny Farmer just went through. Today, Cathy and I were wondering how Donny and Darla were when our phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and say it was from Donny's phone. I didn't know whether or not it was good news are bad, but I answered. When that familar voice of Donny said, "Jim I am wondering how Cathy is doing with her chemo? I cried. What tears of joy, what a great example of God's love and affection. Thank you our God for our friends Darla and Donny and what they mean to us all.
